Coyote runs across the moonlit sand
She stalks and hunts across this barren land
Life on the plains is tough when you're alone
If only she could find a place to call her home

A distant star could lead her to a friend
Until that day her journey will not end
Someone to scratch her ears and give her pets
A couple treats and takes her to the vet

A shining orb emerges out of distant clouds
A swirling disc glows high above the ground
This visitor has had a long and lonely trip
billions of light years inside of their tiny ship

He pushes the buttons to take a look around
The ship's computer will sees what can be found
A scan reveals an animal in strife
A fuzzy reading of intelligent life

He plots chores in hopes of helping out
A lower hatch open and light starts streaming out
A beam of light stretches from the sky
Its warm embrace lifts coyote up so high

Together they will travel through the stars
Going for walks and playing fetch on mars
Burying bones in craters on the moon
Gravity's pull can’t separate these two
